KKCS is the prime risk consultant, providing Risk Assessment Services, to the Port of Long Beach for the Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility Program (Program). This Program will enhance on-dock rail capacity at the Port’s shipping terminals by doubling the size of the existing Pier B rail yard, speeding the movement of cargo, and strengthening the Port’s competitiveness. The Program will also feature a depot for fueling and servicing locomotives and a full-service staging area to assemble and break down trains up to 10,000 feet long. To date, there have been ten (10) independent projects (Packages) identified within the Program boundaries. The total valuation of the Program is currently $1.5 billion.
